Sales Recruiter Internship
I have to admit, I never thought my first internship would be as a sales recruiter let alone at a staffing agency. Sales had never even crossed my mind, and I had no idea if I would even be a good salesperson. But after starting at ALKU, I quickly caught on to the hustle that sales is and various opportunities within the sales industry.

ALKU spans across many niches, like Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Government Securities, Government IT, ERP, etc. I specialized in the Health Sciences niche, Pharmaceutical Technical Equipment and Validation. In my role as a Sales Recruiter at ALKU, I worked closely alongside the Account Managers and the candidates or consultants within my division. My day-to-day responsibilities consisted of conducting phone interviews with recurring candidates that routinely work with ALKU on consulting opportunities. One of ALKU's overarching goal is to continuously expand their network and connections, so I would also be responsible for cold calling consultants and contractors who are in the market. Everyday I would decide on a job that I would work on, and this would guide my pool of candidates that I would cold call. This process would being with a cold call pitch that smoothly integrates into conducting a preliminary phone screening or phone interview to assess their fit for the role. This would lead to a submittal form sent through to the Account Manager on the role, in which they would further personally and verbally qualify the candidate.

Having the opportunity to observe and learn from the full time recruiters throughout the internship truly helped me grow into the role and see a glimpse of the structure of the role post graduation.

#havefunworking hard
ALKU's dedication to their motto "have fun working hard," has everything to do with the company culture and environment they have curated in all full time offices. You can even feel it in all of the training centers, because it truly is the people who live out this mindset. Something that makes ALKU stand out against competitors is their prioritization of work life balance even for the interns. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity as it opened so many doors for me professionally.
